On Sunday, Jan 6th we bid Shona farewell. She is moving back to Scotland next month. Shona chose our first read, Scenes from a Sistah and those of us who have read it will never forget it! Thanks Shona for getting this club off to a great start! We will miss you and hope you will stay in touch via this blog.
Susan Coonce and Angie Murphy fed us well on Sunday, giving us energy for the discussion of Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice. All agreed it was a fascinating story, with lots to think about. FYI, the next book in the series comes out this spring. Those members who read the book but couldn't make the meeting, please post your comments, thoughts etc. here! That's what this blog is for.
Our next book is The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger ( I have no idea how to pronounce this!). Nancy Donlon will lead and Kathy Wilkinson will provide snacks. Remember to bring your own beverage. We will meet on Sunday Feb 10th, which is just 5 weeks between meetings. We bumped up the meeting because Shona will be the guest of honor at a "leaving" party given by one of her friends on our original date of Feb 17th, and has graciously invited us to attend. Plus the Vanderbilt Community Chorus Valentine Concert is on Sunday Feb 17th at 4:00 PM and you are all invited to that as well. More information on both these events to follow.

Hello from Scotland, yes it's Shona back in the land of clouds and showers but home is home and I've actually seen a few lovely days since I got back. Plan to read your summer marathon pick but I'm sure it won't compare to Scences from a Sistah! :-)
Shona
